Handlebar Risers For sports motorcycles, being able to crouch down and minimise wind resistance is desirable. For long distance motorcycling, comfort is the priority. Raising the handlebars allows the rider to sit in a more upright position. It also means that when standing up during off-road sections, the bars are less far to reach down to. Inserts were placed beneath the handlebars to raise them up. This was a simple 10 minute job and has proven to have made a huge difference to comfort. Initially, there was concern that the brake cables would need to be extended, however as this bike does not have ABS fitted, it was not an issue. Before (without bar risers)
After (with 35mm bar risers fitted)
Update: Whilst sitting in the saddle, the riding position is significantly more comfortable, however I did notice that on off road sections, when standing up, the raised bars do make it harder to get weight onto the front of the bike. |
