Radiator Guards

When riding along, the front wheel can flick up debris from the road. This can damage the radiator. On off-road and gravel sections, this becomes a much higher risk, so protection to the radiator is desireable.

Some steel mesh was bought from a local DIY shop. Care was taken that it was not such a tight mesh that it would restrict airflow. This was cut to fit over the radiators and then painted black. The guards are held in place with cable ties as getting to the bolts was more time consuming. It is likely that the guards will need to be removed from time to time to clean out any dirt or trapped leaves that get through. Also note that the left and right sides of the radiator are different shapes! It is a tight fit to get the panels back on afterwards, so some bending of the mesh was required.
