Sunglasses Sunglasses serve two functions. Firstly, to ensure that there is a clear view, unobstructed by the sun and secondly to protect the eyes from any debris thrown up from the road. Two pairs of sunglasses are carried in case of loss/breakage. One pair are from the brand Revo and feature a polarised lens which are excellent for the glare. The second, backup pair were bought from BMW. They lens is quite good with the benefit of them being strong and scratch resistant. In areas where there are many debris, these ones will be worn. Both pairs feature thin arms so that they fit comfortably underneath the helmet. The blue lens of the Revo's, which bring out colours excellently.
Update: Both original pairs of sunglasses were lost or broken. I recommend that you only wear cheap sunglasses when on the bike as you will never have enough hands to hold them. Keep your good sunglasses either at home or for when you are off of the bike. I changed my 'sunglasses strategy' so that my visor is Iridium (tinted) and my glasses are now clear. This gives much better sun protection, is better when you go through tunnels and keeps the temperature down inside the helmet. Clear glasses (non-prescription) are also cheaper to replace WHEN they get lost/broken. |
